Qualified Jazzercise Instructor Class Owner, April 2000 I joined the Jazzercise family in April 2000 taking over the morning classes in Aberdeen from Patricia Berget who brought Jazzercise to Aberdeen 5 years previously, making it a success. I’ve done Ballet and Gymnastics most of my life, and trained as an Exercise to Music Instructor in 1996, so I had a bit of background in the physical world. I like to describe myself as a professional student as I am the kind of person who likes to know it all. I embraced my physical fitness career with a vengeance, taking courses and certifying in: Street Jam, Hi/Lo Latino, Body Pump, Body Max, Fitness Yoga, and Hip Hop Street Aerobics. I have completed workshops on, Flexibility the Art and Science of Stretching, Exercise on Prescription, 50 Plus, Postural Assessment and Correction for Exercise Professionals, and The Science of Torso Training. I have no doubt since I joined Jazzercise that I was born to do what I am doing. It’s not just the getting on a stage to dance a few hours away in front of people every day, it’s getting to know wonderful and amazing people and adding a bit of my expertise and knowledge into their lives while having fun together. My daughters Cristina and Eli are great movers. Crisi has now become a Jazzercise Instructor and Eli does Team Dance, Hip Hop and any other kind of dance you put in front of her. They are my best fans and source of encouragement. Nine years on and I have to thank each and every one of you for giving me the opportunity to get to know you, for letting me be a small part of your life, for accepting me for who I am and making Jazzercise what it is today. The best! |

Substitute Instructor Qualified Jazzercise Instructor, 2002 I have been Jazzercising for the best part of ten years. I teach an average of 4 classes a week in 4 locations which I love as it tends to be different students. Mind you, several people do go to more than one location - the die-hards, you know who you are! I'm a gregarious person and enjoy meeting the people, both students and registrars, at the different locations. Jazzercise is definitely a very sociable way of exercising! I find it rewarding to see the same people turning up every week and actually get a great deal of satisfaction seeing people become fitter and gain more confidence. Most of you will already be aware that I have a tendency to dress up at the drop of a hat - any excuse and out comes the feather boa! I like it when students leave my class with a smile on their face! But most of all, I like the fact that I get to spend time with people I like and hope like me! Enjoy your day! Work hard! Sweat buckets! Leave with a smile! |

Substitute Instructor Qualified Jazzercise Instructor, April 2002 I have recently celebrated teaching Jazzercise for 8 years, having qualified as an Instructor in April 2002. Manoli was teaching the first class I attended and I was amazed at the feeling of fun and enjoyment from her and all the students - I was hooked! I trained whilst I was out of work for a time and was determined to make Jazzercise a permanent part of my routine. I started teaching classes in Banchory but throughout the 8 years I have had the opportunity to teach both morning and evening classes. Work commitments now restrict me to evenings so teaching the Lite classes at Albyn on Tuesdays and Thursdays have become my speciality. It’s a great stress reliever, it accommodates all stages in your lifestyle and I can’t imagine anything taking its place in my life. I didn’t believe the hype from most exercise classes but you really get to know the instructors, the registrars and the students and you DO make great friends! |
